In the
united States, an individual who is accused of a crime
is considered innocent until proven guilty. While
constitutionally this is true, in the generations since
our forefathers had the foresight to include this in our
constitution, there are many factors that, in today's
world appears to have been forgotten.
It is well
documented that law enforcement often use aggressive
force in making an arrest, often times adding a charge
of resisting arrest with or without violence. In high
profile media cases, the accused is often convicted in
the public eye prior to a trial ever taking place.
Prosecutors often worry more about their conviction
rates rather than justice for all involved.
There are
even occasions in which innocent people are sent to jail
or prison as a result of being convicted or forced to
take a plea agreement for a crime the accused did not
commit, due to a prosecutors ambition for advancement or
plans to later go into private practice.
The Law Office of
Mark S.
Blechman, P.A.,
stands up for those accused of committing a criminal
act, ensuring that being accused of a crime does not
mean the individual is automatically guilty of
committing the criminal offense in question.
Our law
office seeks to
level the playing field by ensuring the prosecution is
held to the burden of proving beyond a reasonable doubt
that the accused committed a criminal act, and that the
charges are justified under State and Federal Statutes.
We also investigate to determine if your constitutional
rights have been violated in any way. We always strive
to provide the highest standard of legal representation
while utilizing every legal resource available under the
law to protect your rights and freedoms.
